Notary Public

Please note that Kuljeet Sandhu’s Notarial practice is governed only by the Archbishop of Canterbury and not the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The contents of this page relate to Kuljeet Sandhu in his individual capacity as a Notary and not Smalleys Solicitors LTD as a firm.

Our Notary Public lawyer, Kuljeet Sandhu, has the recognised authority to consider, authenticate, and certify legal documents for use overseas. Based in our offices in Coventry, Kuljeet is a qualified lawyer appointed by the Court of Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury. He has a broad range of clients, ranging from international companies to UK-based people and families.

How Does Our Notary Public Service Work?

After your initial enquiry, we will determine the nature and quantity of documents to be notarised, their purpose, and if they need legalisation by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) or a specific Consulate. This enables us to provide an accurate quote.

At your appointment, bring two forms of identification: a current passport or driving licence, and a bank statement or utility bill (not older than three months). The structure of your appointment will depend on the type of document we need to verify. We aim to explain everything in advance, especially if you have urgent needs.

What are the Fees for Notary Public Services?

  • Minimum charge for notarising a single document is £100.
  • Hourly rate: £265 (no VAT applicable, subject to change).

I Don’t Live in Nottingham. Can You Still Represent Me?

Yes, we support clients nationwide, not just those in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Distance does not affect our ability to provide effective advice or representation.

Additional Information

Documents may need legalisation by the UK Consulate or the Consulate of the receiving jurisdiction. We can arrange UK legalisation of documents from the FCO to obtain an Apostille or refer you to a local agent. Some documents may require translations, incurring additional disbursement costs.

Complaints and Regulatory Matters

Kuljeet Sandhu’s notarial practice is regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. If dissatisfied with the service, contact Kuljeet Sandhu first. If unresolved, you can complain to the Notaries Society, which offers a free, quick resolution process. You can also contact the Legal Ombudsman within six months of receiving a final response or within six years of the act/omission.
