What makes a statement defamatory?

For a statement to be defamatory under the Defamation Act 2013, it must cause or be likely to cause serious harm to the Claimant’s reputation.
What remedies can the Court grant if a statement is held to be defamatory?
Remedies include damages, an injunction, publication of a summary of the Court’s judgment, and an order to remove the defamatory statement. The Court cannot order the maker of the statement to correct it or declare it untrue.
